Parent Training

It’s hard to over-emphasize the importance of parent training in ABA. The research is clear that engaged parents, family membres and caregivers are central to successful ABA programs. Therefore we prioritize parent training as the foundation of long term success.

At ABI we give participants and their families ABA tools and strategies to use throughout the lifespan.

Personalized and Precise Parent Training

All successful treatment includes providing outstanding support to parents and extended care-givers. While we may play a direct role in you and your child’s life for a number of years, there is no end to your parenting journey. Our job is not done until you have the tools to support lasting positive behavior change. Your team will work with you to build the confidence and proficiency to use them on a daily basis.

Our clinicians are highly experienced in providing parent training services. We use Behavior Skills Training (BST) with parents, caregivers, extended family members, and even siblings. 

No matter where you receive services, parent training will be a part of your ABA program. We offer this industry standard approach in your home, the community and our learning centers. Your BCBA will work with you throughout treatment in 1-1 parent training sessions.  During these sessions your BCBA will describe, teach, model, and work with you to practice skills with coaching and feedback.

We customize each parent training program to meet unique needs and preferences. Your clinical support team will work with you in two main areas. Our first goal is to equip families with the tools necessary to support their child’s skill development. The second is to learn how to manage behaviors that get in the way of learning and independence.

At your Pace

We abide by a “do-ability” philosophy with families. Our clinicians are attentive to your needs and pace of learning. It is our intention to always make sure we are not asking families to use strategies they are not comfortable or competent with.
