ABA In-Center

In-Center-based ABA can be hugely important in ABA therapy. There are two main goals that guide the work we do with our participants and their families. Center-based ABA helps us to achieve both of these critical goals.

The first goal is to create lasting positive behavior change. ABA treatment begins by identifying what an individual does and why they are doing it. In other words, what is the function of our behavior? 

Certain behaviors can interfere with daily living, healthy development and learning. We use ABA to replace interfering behaviors with new positive behaviors.

Center-based ABA can create the right conditions for this to occur. Often a simple change in environment can make a deep impact on the behavior change process. Our participants can then learn to manage their behaviors in different environments and new situations.

The second goal of ABA is to learn age appropriate skills. Learning the right skills supports meaningful independence. Being in a safe and welcoming environment can enhance the learning process.

As our participants learn vital living skills, their ABI care team helps them to apply them across a variety of natural environments. This process is called generalization. Participants generalize their skills in the home, recreational center, public transportation, library, grocery store, etc.

We provide ABA services both in the home & community and in our state-of-the-art clinical learning environments.

Center-based ABA helps our participants to learn vital living skills and be ‘Ready for Next’.

Each ABI ‘Ready for Next’ Center houses:

• Fully furnished mock apartment with daily living appliances and ADA compliant shower
• Indoor gross motor facility
• Outdoor playground
• Mock learning environments
• Direct ABA instruction
• Preschool Services
• 2 – 12 ‘Ready for School’ Programs
• 13 – 22+ ‘Ready for Next’ Programs
• Peer groups and community socialization opportunities
• Assessment and parent training rooms
• 1:1 & group parent training groups
• Onsite insurance support
• Free community classes

At ABI our mission is to help all individuals with ASD become “Ready for Next” regardless of age, gender, language, and community background. Our ‘Ready for Next’ Centers are spacious enough to host community and social enrichment activities such as group yoga, mindfulness, fitness, music, and cooking, just to name a few!
