Our ‘Ready for Life’ Program integrates the best home, clinic, and community based supports.
We actively engage all family and caregivers, as well as other providers, to participate throughout treatment.
Each ABA program is personalized to match the needs and preferences of the participant and their family.
ABA services through our ‘Ready for Life’ Program include:
- A full clinical care team
- Ongoing insurance eligibility verification
- Peer groups and socialization opportunities
- ADL training in our on-site mock apartment
- Access to indoor and outdoor gross motor facilities
- Individualized supports
- Teaching readiness skills
- Addressing interfering behaviors
- Independent living skills
We individually tailor ABA services for all of our participants. Programs are age, culturally and developmentally appropriate. This ongoing process includes families, siblings, caregivers and participants themselves to have input at all times throughout treatment.
Skill development and practice take place in our unique mock apartment and mock learning settings in our center.
ABA services always include practicing and generalizing skills in the natural environment.
(0 – 12)
When receiving ABA services our youngest learners participate in center-based activities. These may be in addition to Early Intervention or other young learner services.
We work on readiness skills by teaching children in a mock early learning environment in our centers. In this setting, children learn and practice skills such as:
- Following a schedule
- Discrete trial teaching
- Pretend play
- Communication
- Toileting
- Other routine early learning events and expectations
We also provide similar support to children already in school. ABA services can supplement and strengthen existing programming.
(13 – 22+)
For our older learners, our ‘Ready for Life’ Program has been designed for individuals who may:
- Be post-graduation but not yet exited from special education (18-22)
- Preparing to transition to adult services
- May have already transitioned from school but require ongoing support learning new skills (22+)
ABI clinicians design programs for older participants to provide support across the lifespan. Our goal is to build independence in our learners for personal and social success.
Each of our centers is equipped with a fully furnished mock apartment. All aspects of functional independence can be taught and practiced in our safe and supportive environments.
Program design targets skills for instruction based on current needs. These may include:
- Self-care
- Safety awareness
- Functional leisure skills
- Meal planning/preparation
ABA services often include teaching our participants the basics of caring for their belongings and their environment. Instruction occurs in the home, community and our centers. The goal of programming is to generalize of skills into natural settings.
